Open account dashboardHow the service works
Navigation uses a locally hosted NPS-GeoRisk routing engine. Place search uses a locally hosted Nominatim database plus shared custom places. The routing graph is built from the South Africa OpenStreetMap extract; the geocoder is configured for periodic map updates.
The default map background is supplied by OpenStreetMap. Optional map layers and nearby-point-of-interest lookups may use other providers. Some optional layers need API keys and may not be available.
Coverage and limitations
Route calculations depend on imported map data and the selected routing profile. Map and place data can be incomplete or out of date. NPS-GeoRisk does not currently guarantee live traffic, crime-risk avoidance, road safety, or emergency response.
Always follow current road signs, restrictions, and local conditions. A suggested route is not a guarantee that a road is open, legal to use, or safe.
Data and attribution
Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors. Routing technology is provided by the NPS-GeoRisk project. Third-party map attributions remain visible in the Navigation interface.
